Not My Weekend and Contender at Seventh Circle Music Collective

I am coming up on 5 years of photographing concerts in Denver which is CRAZY. In the last year, I’ve taken some steps back from music photography to focus on some other parts of my life and I have really missed going to shows and shooting for FUN! In 2019, I want to bring music photography back into the focus of my photography and this show was PERFECT for me to start that out.

These first photos are of Contender, a pop-punk band from here in Denver that I’ve been interested in working with. While photographing them, my LOVE for pop-punk resurged.

Headlining the show was Not My Weekend from Wyoming. I only mention that they are from Wyoming because they are such a staple in the music scene in Denver. I have photographed and attended countless shows that they have played in here in Denver over the years so I was thrilled to be able to take some portraits of them too. This being the final date of the Yellow tour, was the perfect excuse to play with some colored gels + speed-lights.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first show of the year. I hope I get to work with these guys again soon.
